Truth in the House of Phaedon“Come Miss Isabella, return to your studies” said the tutor, boring in every meaning of the word. I came back to reality, and still before me was the dusty text in which the family history was recorded. Now I reflected on the importance of the book.  
 As a little girl, I loved to impress my parents with my knowledge of our bloodlines, and their histories. Now the books only bored me. Being the age of 15 and finding new freedoms at every turn, the books became only a hindrance. I once made the mistake of complaining to mother. She sent to me to my room with a warm bottom, and ringing ears.
